G.L. Watson’s programme of conserving and cataloguing the Company Archive has been recognised by the National Strategy for Business Archives who have chosen G.L. Watson & Co., along with companies such as Diaego and Lloyds HBOS as a case study for Best Practice in managing business archives.
The National Strategy for Business Archives in Scotland has been developed on behalf of the Scottish Council on Archives by the Business Archive Council of Scotland in partnership with the Ballast Trust and with the support of the National Archives of Scotland.
The strategy aims to highlight how historical records can be a unique and powerful business asset. The National Strategy aims to make business archives in Scotland valued, representative of economic activity and innovation, and accessible to all, in order to ensure the survival of the Nation’s important business records and industrial heritage.
