MALAHNE – CLASSIC MOTOR YACHT

After many years of following Malahne’s gradual decline, Nicholas Edmiston established the project that would lead to her restoration in August 2012.

G. L. Watson & Co. led the team to recover Malahne from near Tarragona in Spain. The once famous and elegant 1937 Camper & Nicholsons motor yacht had undergone just about every indignity possible.

Appointed Exterior Designers with a brief to restore Malahne to her original appearance G.L. Watson & Co. undertook detailed research prior to producing a complete Large Yacht Code-compliant design package as well as the design for a custom high speed classic launch. We have also carried out the interior design for the crew accommodation, creating a design that incorporates many of the detailed features and style of the Camper & Nicholsons original.

Malahne arrived at Pendennis in September 2012 where GL. Watson & Co. have been joint Owner’s Representatives with Edmiston Yacht Management. We have had lead responsibility for structural and outfitting issues with Edmiston leading on systems, paint and in-service management.

Malahne’s re-launch gives a first glimpse of this ambitious and ground breaking restoration. After completing sea trials Malahne will head to the Mediterranean where she will be available for charter.
